When the adapter is plugged in to charge, the repeller is working nonstop.If you have a few days rain or clouds you can charge the item via the adapter.Power supply: solar power +3x AA size rechargeable batteries or 9 V, 200mA adapter (adapter not included).Detection range: 26-30 feet depending on animals size (the bigger size, the larger range).The item can be inserted in the ground, or mounted against the wall, or you can put the top part directly on a flat surface.It is suggested that you dig a hole and then insert the unit to ensure no damage occurs. (See Figure 1 to connect the pole sections.) Please leave the spike 4.5 inches or more above the ground (see Figure 2). If you mount the unit in the ground, insert the spike into the ground carefully.Peel off the protection over the solar panel. Remember to choose a place where the solar panel on the top can get as long time sunshine as possible and avoid to cover the solar panel.
